The letter asks Naho to erase and prevent her regrets from happening. Not believing it to be true, Naho at first dismisses the letter, however, as the events start coming true, particularly Kakeru Naruse enrolling as a new student at her school, she starts to read more and believe the events within the letter.

Naho starts to follow the instructions in order to help stop the events written in the letter. Although she did not fulfil the first instruction of not inviting Kakeru on the first day, she starts to follow the subsequent instructions written in the letter. After some of the events, Kakeru and Naho are at a shrine during the Bon Festival, and Naho starts questioning Kakeru about his mother. It is revealed that Kakeru's mother committed suicide due to him not being by her side, and thus he solely feels responsible for the event.

In 2025, Naho, Suwa, Takako, Hagita and Azusa are at Kakeru's grandmother's house in order to pay their respects for Kakeru. It is revealed Kakeru's death was not of an accident, but rather a suicide. Knowing this, Naho and Suwa, who are married, decide to write letters to their past selves in order to help erase the regrets.
